Volatilium is the international picture books offshoot of Nefeli Publishing, an established Greek publisher specializing in literary fiction, theatre, history, and art theory since 1979.
Volatilium is also the younger sibling of Tsalapeteinos, Nefeli’s acclaimed picture books imprint launched in 2009. Tsalapeteinos has published works by renowned authors and illustrators like Wolf Erlbruch, Hervé Tullet, Marianne Dubuc, Erin E. Stead, Christoph Niemann, Greg Pizzoli, Célia Chauffrey and Émile Jadoul among others.

About the authors:
RODOULA PAPPA is a writer and translator of children’s books. Her first book The boy with the tree (2012) was awarded the Greek National Prize for Children’s Literature. She is co-founder of the Volatilium and Tsalapeteinos children’s books imprints.
KOSTAS MARKOPOULOS is a Greek painter and illustrator, born in 1977 in Kalamata. He studied at the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has exhibited his work in solo and group shows in Thessaloniki and Athens.
His illustrations for the children’s book The Angry Cement Mixer received the National Prize for Children’s Books Illustration as well as an EBGE Design Award. His illustration for the book From the City of Tastes (by F. Vakana and S. Eleftheriou) was awarded first prize by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.
Kostas Markopoulos lives and works in Thessaloniki as a primary school art teacher.
